LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. – Karen Caplan, President and CEO of Frieda’s Specialty Produce, has been selected as the keynote speaker in the inaugural UC Davis Agribusiness Workshop held at the UC Davis Conference Center. The workshop is designed for executives and middle managers in enterprises large and small. The event featuring Caplan will take place on Monday, March 11, 2013.
Caplan’s speech, “How Strategic Planning Almost Put Me Out of Business” will give attendees an insiders view of what really goes on in entrepreneurial organizations from a CEO’s perspective.
"Karen Caplan is one of the important innovation leaders of agriculture and business. She is also a careful strategic thinker. There is simply no one better to provide a personal CEO perspective for our Agribusiness Workshop,” stated Daniel Sumner, Director, University of California Agricultural Issues Center. “Besides that, Karen is dynamic, enthusiastic and an engaging personality. We know our Workshop participants will learn from and enjoy being with her for the evening."
Other presentations during the two day workshop include case studies and panel discussion about the implications of consumer regulations. Other workshop presenters include: Jill Benson, co-owner, JS West and Companies, Stephen J.
