LOS ALAMITOS, CA – Much like the “pantry essentials” list of ingredients every kitchen should have, Frieda’s Flavor Essentials are fresh specialty produce items produce departments should always have on hand in high volume to help shoppers elevate their everyday menu.
The five Flavor Essentials are Shallots, Ginger, Jicama, Fingerling Potatoes, and Heirloom Tomatoes. These items are consistently in good supply and high volume year-round from Frieda’s, and all meet Frieda’s high standard of quality.
Frieda’s new program will support retailers who carry these Flavor Essentials by providing merchandising suggestions, competitive pricing, and a national consumer campaign.
“Frieda’s is continuing with our mission to change the way America eats fruits and vegetables by turning specialty produce into must-have ingredients in U.S. homes,” says Karen Caplan, President and CEO of Frieda’s. “The trend in clean eating is growing and shoppers are looking to cook more at home while adding more flavor to their daily meals. These five ingredients make a great addition to their healthy menu plans.”
“Many shoppers still feel intimidated by these Frieda’s Flavor Essentials, so they don’t buy them. We are here to show they can pair these fresh ingredients together, or feature them individually in everyday recipes,” adds Caplan.
To reduce the skepticism that can come from consumers when it comes to specialty commodities, Frieda’s has developed recipes for every meal, which are available on their website, and to retailers who can distribute them in store at point-of-sale.
Retailers who carry a few of the Flavor Essentials regularly, but need to complete the collection, can call a Frieda’s account manager at (714) 733-7676.
