The core changes include a greater focus on engineering, improved workplace efficiencies, and a re-energized team.
MOERKAPELLE, NETHERLANDS – Interko, the global leader for the design, manufacture and installation of state-of-the-art fresh fruit ripening rooms, has undergone strategic restructuring to prioritize its expertise in ripening excellence and innovation as the Dutch company kicks off a very strong 2025.
Last year, the ripening room expert closed its on-site sheet metal production facility and recruited additional skilled engineers to focus the entire team on the company’s core mission – to develop the world’s most advanced and energy-efficient ripening rooms.
With support from the University of Delft in the Netherlands, Interko’s factory in Moerkapelle has been transformed. The result is a clearly organized workplace that generates a more efficient workflow. In addition, a dedicated logistics department has been established. This successful redesign has fostered harmony and productivity among staff who are thriving in a more human workplace.
Chris Maat, Interko’s Managing Director/Partner, explains: “2024 was a year of significant internal change for Interko. The decision to prioritise our fundamental expertise in building ripening rooms has made Interko more engineer focused at our core. This guarantees that Interko will continue developing the pioneering ripening solutions for which we are renowned.”
Maat continues: “Now that every employee at Interko is working in tandem to produce the very best ripening rooms in the world, we have re-energised our team spirit. Our new, positive working environment has brought out the best qualities and skills in our staff, and everyone is benefitting and engaging. Already, our strategic restructure is driving efficiency, stimulating creativity, and optimising Interko’s ability to better serve our customers. Overall, it is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to progress. We’re excited for the future.”
To further strengthen its team in the Netherlands, Interko is looking to recruit a Sales Manager to focus on ripening rooms. Ideally, the candidate should have a background in the fresh fruit industry. Interested applicants should email: hr@interko.com.
