Houweling's Tomatoes Unveils Promotional Video At Fresh Summit: 'Mastery Under Glass: From Seed To Harvest'

Anaheim, CA – As part of Houweling’s Tomatoes' PMA Fresh Summit 2014 exhibit, the company has launched a new promotional video, highlighting Houweling’s use of technology, sustainable growing practices, year-round locally grown advantage and commitment to only packing Houweling’s grown tomatoes in a Houweling’s box.
When asked why produce a video like this, Houweling’s CEO Casey Houweling says; “Today’s consumer more than ever wants to know where their food is from and how it was grown. There are lots of misconceptions of what hydroponic greenhouse growing is and at the same time, lots of misrepresentation of low-tech, protected agriculture as greenhouse. I believe we need to tell our story at a grass roots level with consumers so they can make an informed decision.”
As media outlets continue to focus on a growing global population estimated to reach 9.6 billion by 2050, Houweling’s is showcasing the future of sustainable agriculture with technology that allows for year-round locally grown produce that utilizes waste heat and C02 to grow fresh nutritious vegetables. Additionally the company’s complete control of the growing process from seed to harvest and packaging ensures authenticity, transparency and consistency of quality.
Houweling’s CMO David Bell notes; “As an educational tool this video is invaluable to Houweling’s. We would love to have every person in America tour our farms to see how and why we do what we do, but that of course isn’t feasible. In just over two and half minutes, consumers walk away with a clearer picture and that message is delivered directly from the CEO, not a pitchman.”
The company will promote the video at the show in Anaheim and through its digital media channels including its website, Facebook and Twitter pages. To watch the video visit www.houwelings.com
Houweling’s Tomatoes grows year-round, sustainable greenhouse tomatoes on 175 acres in Camarillo, CA, and Delta, BC. In January of 2015, Houweling’s will begin harvesting from their new 28 acre farm in Mona, UT. Led by Casey Houweling and his team, the company is committed to growing a full array of flavorful, sustainably grown, year-round tomatoes.
