Leamington, Ontario – Highline Produce Limited (Highline) celebrated their 55th year of mushroom growing in Leamington this weekend with employees and community leaders.
Founded in 1961 from humble beginnings, Highline Mushrooms has grown to become the largest mushroom grower in Canada and the world’s largest grower of organic mushrooms.
“55 years of continued growth and innovation in agriculture is quite the accomplishment,” said Highline President and CEO, Glenn Martin. “We could not have done it without the dedication to excellence that our employees practice every day. Mushrooms may grow in the dark, but the future of our business is very bright. I look forward to celebrating more milestones in the years ahead.”
The celebration included a visit from Fyffes’ Dublin-based executives and a day of touring some the great sights in the region, including Point Pelee National Park, and wine tastings at some of Ontario’s finest vineyards.
ABOUT
Highline is a fully integrated mushroom business with five (5) facilities in Ontario and Quebec, and recently acquired All Seasons Mushrooms with three (3) facilities in British Columbia and Alberta. Combined, the eight (8) facilities employ over 1400 people.
Highline’s highly developed cropping techniques have enabled them to grow all white, mini bella and portabella mushrooms without the use of any pesticides or fungicides regularly required in the cultivation of mushrooms. Highline Mushrooms is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fyffes.
