Gloucester Terminals Announces Completion Of Cold Storage Project

Gloucester Terminals LLC of New Jersey has announced the completion of a $2 million renovation at the Gloucester Marine Terminal.  The project was a 60,000-square-foot cold storage facility. The building is storing fruit brought up along the Delaware River, originally from South America.

“This facility improvement underscores our commitment to providing the finest and most efficient perishable distribution center services in the United States,” said Leo Holt, the president of Gloucester Terminals. The new facility will help them accommodate larger vessels, and a larger variety of perishable and non-perishable products that will come to the port after the widening of the Panama Canal is finished.

The facility has variable temperature controls that are able to accommodate a variety of fruit products. The Gloucester Marine terminal now has roughly 1.1 million square feet of cold storage space.
