GLOBALG.A.P. announces the outcome of the 2013 GLOBALG.A.P. Board elections. GLOBALG.A.P. members have elected ten retail and producer/supplier representatives to serve on the GLOBALG.A.P. Board for the 2013-2017 term.

New Board Members Representing Suppliers/Producers:

New Board Members Representing Retailers/Food Service:

GLOBALG.A.P. is rather unique among farm assurance schemes worldwide. Every four years its members elect its highest member governance by secret ballot. The Board consists of an equal number of retail and supplier representatives, reflecting the supply chain partnership.

Working very closely with the operational GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat in Cologne, the Board`s tasks involve providing input to the GLOBALG.A.P. Executive Management and approving its key activities as well as taking the final resolution on adopting standards, revisions and new modules.

“We are pleased with the good participation of our members in the election. I am looking forward to continue working with the new Board to establish GLOBALG.A.P. as the preferred solution for farm assurance worldwide. The new Board will address some key areas that have been raised by the current Board, such as chain of custody/traceability and non-food safety issues that need to be strengthened in the G.A.P. audit”, said Dr. Kristian Moeller, Director GLOBALG.A.P.
