Giumarra Will Offer Summer Apricots From Washington

LOS ANGELES – Giumarra Wenatchee is planning its marketing efforts to prepare for the upcoming Washington apricot season.

“Good early spring weather has produced some exceptional quality apricots for this summer’s harvest,” says Jason Bushong, sales manager for Giumarra Wenatchee. “Fruit size is optimal for our retail and club store programs this season.”

The division will offer Rival and Perfection varieties, both conventional and organic. Harvest for the apricots will begin around July 20 and continue for four weeks.

Crop volume has increased since last season for both conventional and organic fruit.

“Organic is a growing category for stone fruit and we will have ample volume to meet our customers’ needs for summer apricots,” says Bushong.

The apricots will be packed in 3-lb. clamshells, Panta-Pak® trays, and volume fill display boxes. The fruit is available for both East and West Coast customers.
