Newark, Del. –  Produce industry members will convene in São Paulo, Brazil August 18 to explore current trends and industry breakthroughs to meet potential business partners and expand into new markets.

PMA’s third annual Fresh Connections: Brazil brings together professionals from across the supply chain who wish to stay connected to industry leaders, decision makers and innovative solutions impacting the global fresh produce industry.

“The large selection of networking opportunities and its diversified education program contribute to the event’s empowering atmosphere,” says Brazil Country Council Chair Adriana Prado, International Marketing Manager, Itaueira Agropecuaria, S/A, Fortaleza, Brazil. “Industry members will secure the tools needed to establish an indelible presence in the region and beyond.”

This year’s education will explore various key trends and solutions including how to develop effective marketing strategies, understand consumer demand, use big data to run successful businesses and reduce food waste.

“Together we can all learn better ways of working and opportunities to further reduce waste in our individual organizations. The agriculture industry has an opportunity to share proven strategies that reduce the amount of food waste and loss through education and the voice of PMA,” says Carlos Visconti, Chief Operating Officer, Red Sun Farms, USA & Canada. “At Red Sun Farms we have analyzed the supply chain and identified a number of solutions to minimize waste for growers, and we are excited to have the opportunity to share our experience in hopes of helping the industry achieve success in their packaging designs & supply chain cycles.”

Visconti is among the group of speakers attending this year.

Traveling from the U.K., David Hughes, Emeritus Professor of Food Marketing, Imperial College London, England will also attend to share his insight on marketing tactics and branding strategies that engage consumers and increase demand.
