Dinuba, CA November 5, 2009 Fruit Patch announced today that Scott Wallace, President and CEO, was elected to the Board of Directors. Scott also sits on the boards of the California Grape and Tree Fruit League and ML Macadamia Orchards. Wil Garland, Chairman of the Fruit Patch Board, stated Scotts positive impact at Fruit Patch is evidenced by the outstanding results the company delivered for our grower partners during the 2009 tree fruit season. The Board is confident that Scott will continue to enhance grower returns in the years to come. Garland went on to state, Under Scotts leadership Fruit Patch has improved overall pack outs this year to 80%, which is significantly above results achieved in recent years. This along with revitalized marketing strategies has resulted in dramatic increases in returns for our growers.
Wallace stated, I am pleased with the results that Fruit Patch achieved this season and look forward to working with the Board to make Fruit Patch the leading packer/marketer of stone fruit and specialty fruits in the San Joaquin Valley. Our 2010 Grower financing has been approved; we have a $12 million line available to our growers for cultural and harvest costs, so I am very confident with our prospects for new and current growers.
