BARTOW – Even with slightly higher farm prices stemming from Florida’s declining citrus crops, the 2015-16 season will remain a tough one to make a profit.
That was a conclusion by Marissa Zansler, the chief economist at the Florida Department of Citrus, in a revision of her 2015-16 seasonal outlook in October. She presented the new outlook to the Florida Citrus Commission on Wednesday.
Zansler revised her seasonal outlook following an unprecedented decline in the Florida orange crop in the first two months of the season.
