Earthcycle Packaging Ltd., a leader in the sustainable packaging industry, is set to deliver and lead one of the most highly anticipated speeches and discussions of the year at United Freshs 2010 inaugural Global Conference on Produce Sustainability. The conference, set to take place on Friday, April 23rd at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, is designed to educate attendees not only on the importance of working toward long-term sustainability to protect the environment, but also on how making the right choices can actually help increase market sales.
Shannon Boase, Earthcycles Founder and CEO, will be leading the address with her presentation entitled, Communicating Your Commitment To Sustainability. As the title suggests, it will deal with the many questions surrounding this emerging technology that todays growers, producers, packers, shippers and retailers will have to answer in the coming months. Things like What should we be asking of our packaging suppliers? and What are the FTC guidelines on green marketing? are examples of the useful information put in everyday terms that those attending can expect to walk away with.
Im excited to share some of the information Earthcycle has gathered over the last 6 years with so many of my colleagues in the produce industry, says Boase. It should be a lively learning discussion as we dispel some of the myths surrounding the concept of going green and focus on using new technologies to be both environmentally responsible and profitable at the same time.
Earthcycle Packaging was founded in 2005 to design durable, safe and environmentally responsible packaging alternatives, made from renewable palm fiber, to help reduce North Americas mounting waste problem. Using palm fiber to create global-friendly packaging products has not only helped revolutionize the industry, but will ultimately reduce the environmental and health hazards brought on by plastics, reduce our dependency on petroleum products, and create a better quality of life and working conditions for those affected by the incineration of palm waste. Since its launch, Earthcycle has become a trusted, award-winning leader in providing certified home compostable packaging across North America, protecting and displaying both conventional and organic fresh produce in Wal-Mart, Wegmans, Trader Joes, Publix, Kroger, Whole Foods, Loblaws and Sobeys retail locations, just to name a few.
A booth hosted by Earthcycle will also be located just outside the United Fresh conference hall, and all attendees are invited to drop by and pick up additional information. Should you have any questions or need additional details, please contact Julie Lucido at (559) 322-0203.
