Earl’s Organic Produce, San Francisco’s first organics-only produce supplier, is growing its distribution facility and expanding its banana business to boot.
Started as a single stall at the San Francisco Produce market back in 1988, the now 25-year-old company is moving into a brand new warehouse this week, adding another 10,000 square feet to its 20,000 square foot facility.
The new warehouse will include three new banana ripening rooms, which will allow it to control its supply of bananas throughout the ripening process — making very ripe bananas available for smoothie makers and not-so-ripe bananas for clients that need them to last.
