DJ Forry Celebrates 40th Anniversary With New Logo, Retail Initiative

Reedley, CA – California produce marketer DJ Forry is planning for the future by honoring the values and culture that fueled its success for the past 40 years. An updated logo presents a new face for the company and signals a push to increase DJ Forry’s brand awareness within its principal sets of customers: wholesalers, brokers, retailers and growers.

Founder DJ Forry’s sons, Dewey, Jr. and John, now run the export and domestic sides of the company’s business, and said their father’s work ethic and culture played a strong role in the company’s recently completed rebranding effort.

“We’re still the same company that our Dad started and ran successfully for decades,” said company VP John Forry. “His nose-to-the-grindstone work ethic and emphasis on building enduring relationships with customers are the foundation of our culture to this day. That will never change.”

The new DJ Forry logo includes an illustration of a young DJ Forry against a backdrop of fields and crops. It also includes visual references to the company’s age and family-owned status.

“We’ve always been an opportunistic company,” added company President Dewey Forry, Jr. “We make the most of opportunities when they appear, and now we’re going to create opportunities on our own. We feel very confident as we begin to build a significant presence with food retailers because the values on which this company was built and grew — trust, integrity, loyalty, and honesty – are still the things we believe in today. And we believe those qualities will continue to serve us well.”

In January, long-time supermarket produce executive Ray England was named DJ Forry’s vice president of marketing. DJ Forry’s traditional customer base has been farmers on the supply side and produce wholesalers and brokers across the country. Although the company has sold directly to a small number of retail chains, England’s arrival at the company was an indication of DJ Forry’s intent on gaining brand awareness with retailers from coast to coast for its Forry’s Finest brand and label.
