Distinguished Former Secretaries Of Ag To Advocate For Clinton & Trump Presidencies At Washington Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two respected former Secretaries of Agriculture – one Republican and one Democrat – will take the stage to advocate for the election of Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton during the United Fresh Washington Conference this year.

With the 2016 presidential election shaping up to be an historic event for the country, Reagan Administration USDA Secretary Jack Block will make the case for a Trump presidency, while Clinton Administration USDA Secretary Dan Glickman will make the case for a second Clinton presidency, this time with Hillary instead of his former boss. United Fresh President and CEO Tom Stenzel will moderate their discussion, sitting firmly in the middle.

This special event promises to be a highlight of the conference, and will take place during the General Breakfast Session on Wednesday, September 14, in Washington, D.C.

“Our industry has had great respect for both Secretary Block and Secretary Glickman,” Stenzel said.  “Both of these gentlemen were strong leaders for all of agriculture, and forged many bipartisan agreements in past Farm Bills and as well as addressing other issues. With today’s polarizing campaigns splitting the country, I’m going to be asking each of them how agriculture can bridge the divide, and why they feel their candidate is the best choice for the job,” Stenzel said.

This year’s Washington Conference will bring attendees face-to-face with key members of Congress, their staff and top regulatory officials. The conference also features the Rising Leaders Program for up-and-coming industry employees. To register, visit www.unitedfresh.org.
