DeltaTRAK is pleased to announce its FlashCheck Real-Time Bacterial Enzyme Detection Kit has won United Fresh's 2012 Best New Food Safety Product Award.
FlashCheck Real-Time Bacterial Enzyme Detection kits are used for identifying bacteria on-site and provide an accurate, quick and inexpensive way to screen for dangerous levels of bacterial contamination. Having a low cost screening tool allows users to test more often, thereby greatly increasing the success rate of catching bacterial contamination before it finds its way to the consumer.
DeltaTRAK's bacterial enzyme technology uses proprietary substrates with bacterial enzymes that when bonded and hydrolyzed (introduced to water) create a chemical reaction. This reaction breaks the substrate into two parts. One of these parts (the tag) releases energy in the form of fluorescence. The tag's fluorescence can be seen by using reagents that provide visual, colorimetric results on a swab or test strip.
DeltaTRAK offers two types of screening tests. One is ideal for examining food preparation surfaces or any surface that comes in contact with food products – Surface Assay. The second screening test is designed specifically for testing the surface of food products and produce – Food Surface Assay.
The FlashCheck Enzyme Surface Assay Detection kits are assays for the detection of total count or gram negative microorganisms directly from a contaminated source.
