CMI Orchards Sees A Strong Start To The 2018 Cherry Season

CMI Orchards announces that cherries from the Pacific Northwest are a true crowd pleaser this season.  With chart-topping sugar levels, consumers are in for a treat with this season’s full-flavored Northwest cherries.

Warm days and cool, crisp nights have allowed this season’s cherries to develop high sugar, great flavor and color.  With optimal weather conditions this year, Rainier cherries will truly be Nature’s Candy with exceptional sweetness.  There should be ample supply of Rainier cherries for National Rainier Cherry Day on July 11th.

George Harter, Vice President of Marketing for CMI Orchards, reports how exciting it is to see such great quality coming off the trees.  “This year seems to be better than anyone can remember,” said Harter.  “We’ve had reports from the field and packing facilities that our cherries are the best they’ve seen in years.” Harter reported that retail customers are already sharing feedback on how pleased they are with the quality, sweetness and texture, and that they are receiving rave reviews from customers.

According to Harter, the harvest timing is pretty close to perfect when it comes to retailers starting the summer off with a huge drive in sales.  “Any retailer looking to get a jump on sales to kick off the summer months should talk to us about running promotions.  There will be ample opportunity for promotions including the July 4th holiday and through the month of July.  We have great tools such as 2-box shipper displays and point of sale materials that can help drive interest and capture those impulse purchases that cherries bring to category sales.” CMI has a package to fit all retailers including a 6 oz. snack size cherry pouch bag for snack displays, convenience store formats and grab and go snack sections.
