Nogales, AZ. – Joe Calenda joined Ciruli Brothers in late February as the company’s Director of Foodservice and Retail Programs. Mr. Calenda, who was previously with Grupo Coliman (Phoenix, AZ), will be in charge of developing the company’s foodservice and retail business.
The native of Vicenza, Italy brings over 35 years of experience in the produce industry, having worked with renowned companies like Sysco Corp. and Dominick’s stores in the Chicago area. When asked about the company’s decision to hire Mr. Calenda, Ciruli Brothers’ COO, Chris Ciruli, said “Joe’s vast experience in the foodservice and retail trades brings priceless information and know-how to our operation. We are honored and very excited to have him here.”
When asked why he accepted the position with Ciruli Brothers, Mr. Calenda responded by saying he was particularly moved by the family’s legacy in the produce industry. “I identify with Ciruli Brothers’ commitment to quality and service and with the company’s vision for the future.” Mr. Calenda added.
