California citrus grower, Booth Ranches recently achieved certification under GlobalG.A.P Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) Version 4.0, a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized food safety certification covering all of Booth Ranches farms and packing facilities.
Founded in 1957 by Otis Booth, Jr., Booth Ranches started out with 40 acres near the foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s in the San Joaquin Valley. Today, Booth Ranches is still family owned with nearly 10,000 acres stretching from Orange Cove to Maricopa, covering Fresno, Tulare and Kern Counties. Honesty, integrity and commitment are the foundations upon which Booth Ranches was established and strives to provide customers with a consistent, safe supply of premium citrus as evidenced by the recent GlobalG.A.P. IFA certification.
Booth Ranches chose the GlobalG.A.P. IFA certification standard because of its shared commitment to food safety and sustainability. Producer’s who choose the GlobalG.A.P. IFA certification, are committed to protecting consumers, their supply chain partners, and the future of their businesses.
The GlobalG.A.P. IFA standard is designed to reduce risk for producers by identifying and controlling food safety risks while helping producers improve farm management, on-site efficiency, and compliance with legislation. The standard also provides producers with a practical approach to address pressing concerns such as food safety, environmental sustainability, traceability, worker and animal health, safety and welfare while incorporating Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) as well as integrated crop and pest management practices covering the entire farming process from pre-farming inputs, farming activities, harvest, post harvest, and product handling.
