Boise, ID – Albertson’s LLC has named Jerry Callahan to the position of Vice President of Produce Merchandising, subject to the close of the store sale transaction announced on January 10, 2013, with SUPERVALU. Callahan will be responsible for continuing to grow sales and profits in the category through fostering innovation in the category and assisting the divisions in providing the best-in-fresh quality produce and programs that Albertsons LLC is known for.
“Over the last 6 years, Jerry’s contributions to our in-store produce programs have helped Albertsons LLC to set the bar for what best-in-fresh quality means, both for the industry and for our customers,” said Bob Butler, Executive Vice President of Operations. “His years of experience combined with his expertise in identifying new consumer trends and quickly implementing in-store programs will be an invaluable asset as we continue developing our produce programs.”
Callahan has been with Albertsons his entire career. He started as an assistant produce clerk in Seattle in 1982, and held a Produce Sales Manager in four divisions before joining the Corporate office team in Boise in November 2004. Prior to joining Albertsons LLC in 2006 as Produce Sales Manager for the Southwest division, Callahan was the Produce Category Manager for Albertsons, Inc.
