Twin Falls — A 500 person blind taste test yielded a national award for Independent Meat company in Twin Falls.
The Falls Brand Old Fashioned Basque Chorizo won the 2011 National Meat Association’s “Hold The Mustard Award” at the MEATXPO’11. The national event was held at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas with several hundred people representing the top sausage makers in the country in attendance. This is the 17th year of the award, but the first year Falls Brand entered the competition.
“In the past, we have always let our customers cast their vote so to speak, by trying our products and getting their feedback,” Pat Florence, CEO of Independent Meat, said. “But winning this award from our peers in the industry has given our people who work hard at developing our products, the recognition they deserve.”
