DUNCAN, S.C. — Sealed Air’s Cryovac® Next Generation Boneless Beef Bag (B6620) recently was honored with an AmeriStar Award for Institutional Food Packaging from the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP).
Already a market leader in bag packaging for boneless beef, Sealed Air introduced its Cryovac Next Generation Boneless Beef Bag (B6620) to improve upon several aspects of existing bags for boneless beef products. The package utilizes a reformulated material, down-gauged for cost/sustainability efficiencies. The product’s tough, abuse-resistant material touts improved shrink properties that enable clear, wrinkle-free appearance and results in fewer leakers and package failures throughout the distribution process and entire product life cycle. The high-gloss and anti-haze properties of the package accentuate the in-line, one-color print graphics and ensure a natural presentation with complete product visibility. The innovative package – ideal for such products such as rib-eye, chuck, and knuckles – runs on the same equipment as existing Cryovac brand bags for boneless beef and is provided at no extra charge for existing customers, making integration of the enhanced product a cost neutral change for producers.

More than 150 packages were submitted for IoPP AmeriStar awards consideration. Judges evaluated and analyzed packages from 18 categories based on package innovation, sustainability, protection, economics, performance, and marketing. Winning packages were honored at the AmeriStar Awards Reception and Dinner at the Marriott Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois.
