Registration is open for the annual Meat Industry Summit , April 4-6, 2017, at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, California. The new Summit will be the Meat Institute's only annual conference, combining programming from the former Meat Industry Management and Outlook conferences.
The Summit will feature education sessions covering food safety and regulatory issues, labor and employment topics and marketing and communications. Specifically, education tracks will include an overview of the effect of the Trump presidency on labor and employment, a discussion of management's role in social media messaging and a panel of academic experts addressing pathogen issues. Additional program details are being added daily, and interested attendees should check the event website for the latest information. FSIS Administrator Al Almanza will address conference attendees during the Summit's breakfast session and Charles Cartwright of Lockton Companies will discuss key principles for building positive culture and company morale. NAMI committee and Board of Directors meetings will also be held.
