Missouri State Sells Locally-Produced Beef

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri State University is encouraging people in the Ozarks to try beef produced locally at the Darr School of Agriculture.

The school has recently started selling beef produced by students who carry out every step of the cattle raising process at farms near Springfield. The cattle are born at the school’s Journagan Ranch and are “finished” at another farm near Fair Grove.

The cattle farm has become the classroom for Missouri State Seniors Jamie Gundel and Justin Maus. Their big project is producing quality ground beef, ribeye and sirloin.
