The marinade and sauces segment is experiencing growth due, in part, to a return to the kitchen, according to the latest research from Mintel, a leading market research firm.
The cooking sauces and marinades category gained 20 percent in U.S. retail sales between 2005 and 2010 and is expected to increase by another 19 percent by 2015, Mintel reported.
The cooking sauces and marinades market is divided into five segments with dry sauces and other wet sauces being the largest with just over 26 percent market share each. Ethnic sauces, barbecue sauces and refrigerated/frozen sauces follow with 19 percent, 18 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
