Hain Celestial Group Completes Acquisition Of Remaining Interest In Hain Pure Protein Corp.

Now that its has full helpings of FreeBird chicken and Plainville Farms turkey on its plate from a $40 million acquisition made Thursday, Hain Celestial Group (NASDAQ:HAIN) plans to invest in the brands with an eye on doubling sales, said CEO Irwin Simon Friday.
Packaged-goods company Hain Celestial bought the remaining 51.3% interest it didn't already own in the poultry brands' parent company, Hain Pure Protein Corp., from an affiliate of Pegasus Capital Advisors.
"What we got is 100% ownership in a protein category that is growing in double digits," Simon said in an interview.
