FSIS Issues New Directive On Foodborne Illness Investigations

A new directive has been issued by the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on foodborne illness investigations.  The directive instructs agency personnel in the procedures they should follow when conducting a foodborne illness investigation.  It also addresses what triggers an investigation.  The new directive was necessitated by organizational and responsibility changes within the agency.
