We’ve partnered with Jim Rudolph and Len Caric to acquire the Uncle Charley’s Sausage Company! FNBCP has a lot of respect for both Jim and Len and could not be happier about working with them on this new opportunity. On the FNBCP side, it was a team effort led by Joe Bute and Tyson Smith. Great coverage by the Post Gazette, Pittsburgh Business Times, and Patty Tascarella! This was a great example of succession planning and keeping companies local during the ownership transition process, which is a core focus for FNBCP.
Located right outside of Pittsburgh, PA, Uncle Charley’s produces and distributes gourmet sausage and meat products to retail markets throughout six states, including Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland. The 25-year old local brand’s key to success and popularity with consumers is the freshness and quality of its ingredients: with pork sources in the tri-state area, the company’s product moves from field to store in about 48 hours, contains 32% less fat than competitors, and is never frozen!
