Chicago City Council Passes Resolution Against Antibiotics In Livestock

The Chicago City Council's Committee on Finance today passed a resolution spelling out Chicago's stance against antibiotic use in livestock farming.

The resolution expresses Chicago's support of the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act in the U.S. House and the Senate's Preventing Antibiotic Resistance Act.

The vote came after medical, academic and culinary experts testified regarding the risks of antibiotic use in the food system.
