TORONTO – Maple Leaf Top Dogs® awarding $25,000 for most unique and tasty creation!
Hot dogs are a summer staple, and whether you are enjoying them at the ballpark, at a backyard barbecue or from a city street vendor's cart, one thing remains the same – toppings are a must have! Maple Leaf Top Dogs® wants to know how Canadian families are topping their hot dogs and will award one family $25,000* for sharing their delicious creation!

Top Dog Search To enter, parent and child teams are being asked to submit their best Top Dog creation, including a catchy name and step-by-step recipe instructions on Facebook. Entries must be received by August 8(th), 2011. The top 10 finalists will be selected by a panel of judges including Chef John Placko, director of culinary excellence, Maple Leaf Foods and will be flown to Toronto at the end of August for a live cook-off to determine which team will win the $25,000 grand prize. Judging will be based on entry name, toppings used, overall quality, appearance, originality and lastly, taste. The live cook-off will take place on Saturday, August 27(th) at Toronto's 12(th) annual Scotiabank BuskerFest in support of Epilepsy Toronto, showcasing over 100 spectacular street performers from around the globe. Scotiabank BuskerFest runs August 25(th) to 28(th) throughout Toronto's St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood.
Maple Leaf Top Dogs® are available in a variety of flavours including 100 per cent Angus Beef, BBQ size, singles and with less salt. They are available across Canada in grocery and mass market retailers.
