ABERDEEN, NC — International Tray Pads & Packaging, Inc. announces a new absorbent technology using a proprietary laminated structure that significantly reduces material weight and content. The result is a lighter, thinner pad with highly desirable characteristics that significantly reduces the CO2 footprint and the amount of material ultimately discarded in landfills. Yet International Tray Pads will retain and hold moisture under pressure unlike traditional fluff pulp/all paper pads.
This technology works very well in grocery tray pad sizes from 25 to 75 grams of absorbency and is even more beneficial in the higher absorbent tray pads used by major meat and poultry processors.
Better moisture control extends the shelf life of fresh meat, poultry and fish and prevents the unwanted spread of microorganism contamination beyond the point of purchase package. "Our product offers performance advantages that are becoming a standard throughout the world," says Robert J. Knorr, President of International Tray Pads.
