The Vancouver Island Health Authority is cautioning people not to bring strongly scented and high pollen-bearing flowers into hospitals and residential care facilities this Easter weekend.
While some people see lilies as the traditional flower for Easter, others struggle with headaches, nausea and even respiratory issues when they come in contact with this flower.
Highly scented and pollen-bearing flower varieties, as well as highly scented personal hygiene products such as perfumes, hand creams and hairsprays, can aggravate health problems for some patients and staff.
