The Western Nursery & Landscape Association (WNLA) recently honored several leaders in the horticulture industry at The Western 2019 trade show in Kansas City. WNLA is a regional trade association whose members represent all specialties within the horticulture industry, including independent retailers, landscape contractors, designers, architects and maintenance, wholesale and greenhouse growers, as well as those in horticulture education, research and students.
Among the awards presented at the Jan. 16 banquet were Outstanding State Association Leader, Emerging Leader, Employee of the Year, and the Western Legend Award, which recognizes a lifetime of sustained and significant professional achievement and public service to the green industry.
Spring Meadow Nursery owner Dale Deppe was presented with the 2019 Western Legend Award which recognizes “accomplishments that have contributed to the advancement of the green industry, bringing the realization of significant value to society.” Deppe expressed his deep appreciation and remarked, “It’s an honor to accept this award on behalf of our family of Spring Meadow plant geeks, plant breeders, growers, and plant lovers across the country.”
