Royal Van Zanten To Integrate Divisions

On 1 January 2013, Van Zanten Cuttings, Van Zanten Plants and Van Zanten Research will be integrated to create one strong plant breeding company specialising in cut flowers and pot plants: Van Zanten Breeding.

Van Zanten Breeding will continue to focus on the same product line as the former divisions: Chrysanthemum, Alstroemeria, Bouvardia, Statice and Freesia, Multiflora and Pot Chrysanthemum, Celosia, Aster and Pot Alstroemeria. Meanwhile, a consolidation of activities will result in a more efficient and more professional organisation, and an overlap of marketing territories will lead to synergy in sales and marketing activities.

The plant material reproduction sector is undergoing rapid change. The ornamental plant industry, too, will soon have access to new breeding technologies. Floriculture is involved in far-reaching globalisation, upscaling and a focus on sales. Van Zanten Breeding will be well equipped to respond adequately to these developments.
