From the 9th until the 12th of July Cultivate 2016 was held in Columbus, Ohio. Cultivate is the biggest annual horticultural event for North America. This year a total number of 44 company’s participated in this event. Cultivate is organised by AmericanHort, the trade association for horticulture in America.
This year Royal Van Zanten participated to contact existing and potential customers, distributors and to show it’s promising novelties. A few highlights from our presentation at Cultivate:
Aster
This summer, for the second time, Royal Van Zanten presented her Royal Aster series in the USA. The Aster collection exists of two different promising series: (1) the Aster Tiara®, a series with daisy flowertypes and (2) the Aster Showmakers®, a series with decorative flower type Asters. You do not get a Royal-sounding name for nothing: our Asters series features plants covered with flowers in a wide range of intense blue-violet colours. Besides this fact the Royal Asters have an excellent shelf life and good branching. These varieties look beautiful when planted in single colours, in coloured combinations or in large pots on the patio in combination with other plants. At Cultivate the two varieties Lilac Sunset and Blue Bayou attracted the visitors attention because of their special colours and voluminous flowers.
