On Monday, May 7, again the auctioning of flowers started an hour earlier than usual. In general, the handling times and end times for flowers improved over last year on Monday, 8 May 2017. There were also significantly more transactions of plants processed.
What stands out?
In Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg, the end time of 13:00 was realised for flowers, which is a huge improvement over 8 May 2017. The handling times also scored well. In Rijnsburg they were almost the same as last year, while Aalsmeer and Naaldwijk scored much better.
Significantly more transactions of plants were processed than last year. The number of transactions was also higher than on the other early auction days in 2018, on April 3 and 30. Given the number of transactions, the end times in Aalsmeer and Rijnsburg were realised. In Naaldwijk 4,000 more transactions (+30%) of plants were processed, which did proportionally extend the end time. The handling times showed great improvements.
