Once again, the thermometer reached record heights over the past few days. The tropical temperatures were also evident at Plantarium. Despite the heat, there was a positive atmosphere at the fair and a perfect climate for doing business. The number of trade visitors did not suffer as a result. However, the total number of visitors did fall slightly. All the same, the spacious layout with all those cooling green plants meant that Plantarium was truly cool.
16,100 visitors came to Plantarium in 2016, 1000 fewer than in previous years. At 10,600, the number of trade visitors was at the same level as two years ago when 10,650 attended the fair.
A successful fair
Board members heard nothing but positive comments from the standholders when going round the fair. “I was able to speak to my clients at length and took various orders”, was one reaction heard as early as Wednesday. “I stand at three trade fairs every year. Because of the diversity of the range of plants, the novelties and the time of year, Plantarium is the best fair for me”, said a satisfied standholder.
Plantarium 3.0
At various locations, a preview of the future was provided. Products from standholders were used to create mood boards and products were shown in various applications. This will be repeated in 2017. The revised fair layout allows the organisation to take control. It already makes it possible to indicate at an early stage what a visitor to the fair can expect. However, the main point is that Plantarium is and remains a plant fair and is quite simply the place to be at the end of August!
Plantarium 2017 runs from 23 to 26 August 2017 in the Plantarium building at the International Trade Centre Boskoop-Hazerswoude. For further information, please visit www.plantarium.nl.
