Amidst the dreary winter blues felt by many, is a splash of colour coming from the Direct Energy Centre. The colour which comes from Canada Blooms, is a ten day exhibition of everything floral, beginning on Friday March 15th and continuing to Sunday March 24th, 2013. Over the ten day long event pickOntario and various local growers will be showcasing over 75 varieties of cut flowers as well as 120 varieties of indoor potted plants which are all grown in greenhouses across the province.
Growers showcasing their product at the event welcome the public to come and enjoy this wonderful array of floral products available for purchase at the pickOntario booth. Nikki Gomes, Marketing Director for the pickOntario campaign says, “Canada Blooms is a wonderful opportunity for consumers to learn which flowers are grown in Ontario so that they can support the Ontario economy and buy fresh local Ontario flowers and potted plants.”
Throughout the show, pickOntario will be hosting a number of some special events on the show’s main stage and within their own booth. The main stage performances are certainly ‘can’t miss’ events. Join pickOntario at the show on Friday March 15th at 3:00pm for “The Flowers of Rock ‘n’ Roll!” where Nemo Nauta, a well known floral designer and instructor at the Canadian Institute of Floral Design will be designing beautiful arrangements while educating attendees on the benefits of buyng and using local flowers while swinging his hips as a Vegas style look-alike of Elvis Presley!
