WOODBURN — A Woodburn florist has achieved her first victory in the movement she launched two years ago to reform the floral industry, which she says has suffered since the dawn of the Internet.
Last month, House Bill 2212 passed a 37-23 vote in the Oregon House of Representatives.
The bill was conceptualized by florist Cindy Wurdinger-Kelly, of Woodburn’s Valley Pacific Floral, and sponsored by Rep. Betty Komp (D-Woodburn). It aims to shift the commission structure of floral orders, allotting more to local shops and less to national order originators.
