When it comes to growing flowers, Michigan and Ohio are as fresh as a daisy.
Though not widely known for it, the two states have long been among the biggest producers of perennial flowers and potted plants in the country.
“It’s like our best kept secret here,” said Val Vail-Shirey, executive director of the Michigan Floriculture Growers Council.
