The Lily now has its own event: the Dutch Lily Days! Fifteen renowned lily breeders and bulb exporters will open their doors from Tuesday May 24th through Saturday May 28th 2011. All events that usually are spread all over the year will now held together. The Dutch Lily Days offers you the opportunity to visit all participating companies and view the entire Lily assortment in just one short week.
The Netherlands is among the largest producers of Lily bulbs and flowers in the world. Worldwide, Lilies from the Netherlands have a great reputation. Flower growers in many countries grow varieties of Dutch origin. Consumers enjoy the colors and scents of these often unique species. Today’s assortment of Lilies took shape thanks to the efforts of Dutch bulb hybridizers, growers and exporters. A joint event like the Dutch Lily Days is part of this.
Under the banner The Dutch Lily Days, fifteen of the largest companies joined hands: Van den Bos Flowerbulbs, Bot Flowerbulbs, De Jong Lelies, Lily Company, Mak Breeding, Marklily, Onings Holland Flowerbulbs, The Originals, C. Steenvoorden, G.A. Verdegaal, Gebr. Vletter & Den Haan, VWS Export – Import of Flowerbulbs, World Breeding, Zabo Plant and Van Zanten Flowerbulbs. All participating companies invite you to visit and welcome you during the Dutch Lily Days!
All varieties are simultaneously in bloom in hybridizing and trial greenhouses for you to see and compare. You will not be able to find a better picture of the newcomers and current lily assortment. The Dutch Lily Days will give the Netherlands more color as a Lily nation.
