Interest Soars In Ikebana Art Form

Learn about the grace and eloquence of Ikebana, the Japanese art of floral arranging, when Yuko Hancock presents a demonstration Tuesday afternoon for the Melbourne Chapter of Ikebana International.

The event is the chapter's fifth annual spring demonstration.

These events have been growing so much in popularity, organizers sought a larger venue for the demonstration, chairwoman Linda O'Toole said. The chapter arranged for the program to be in the fellowship hall at Suntree United Methodist Church,

"Many people I speak with don't know exactly what Ikebana flower arranging is," she said. "I think they're learning, and we're getting a greater appreciation for the art form."
