During a festive event in the Louwman Museum in The Hague, the winners were presented with the Royal FloraHolland Glazen Tulp Award 2016 by television presenter and jury chairman Rob Verlinden. The award celebrates the most successful market introduction in the four categories of cut flowers, houseplants, garden plants and concepts.
Royal FloraHolland provides the Glazen Tulp Award each year for the most successful market introduction in the four categories of cut flowers, houseplants, garden plants and concepts. Every year hundreds of novelties and concepts are introduced at Royal FloraHolland. Product innovation is indeed an important strength of the Dutch horticultural sector.
Cut flowers category
In the cut flowers category, J.C. van der Hoorn (Ter Aar), Maatschap van Velden-Seuneke ('s-Gravenzande), Rijk de Jongh Flowers (Tuil), Maatschap J.W. Nikerk-Priem (Oosterland), A. Middelburg (Naaldwijk), Herman Moshe (Israel), Malca Farm Ltd. (Israel), Flor Trade International (Italy) and La Nuova Floricoltura Mer (Italy) won first prize with Ranunculus Pon-Pon Malva.
