Walterboro, S.C. – On May 30, 2013, Floralife employees and guests will gather to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary.
Founded in 1938, Floralife introduced the first cut flower food to the floral market. Acquired by floral foam maker Smithers-Oasis in 2007, today the company provides a full range of flower care and floral design products – at every stage of the postharvest process – to customers worldwide. From its global headquarters in South Carolina, Floralife is well positioned to reach all corners of the globe. This facility houses Floralife’s main research and technology laboratories, manufacturing, logistics, sales and marketing. Additional research facilities in the United States are located in Kent, Ohio and Miami, Florida – which is also home to additional sales personnel. Floralife also maintains a team of Ph.D. scientists, research specialists, manufacturing facilities and sales personnel strategically located in major flower markets and flower growing areas around the world.
Floralife Vice President Jim Daly reflects on the company’s history and success. “We have always strived for that leadership position in this industry,” he explains. “We realize we have a stake in every aspect of the flower chain, from harvest to home, postharvest care to design and decoration. We’re problem solvers, doing our best to advance the ultimate goal – fresher, longer-lasting flowers and absolute consumer satisfaction.
“We want to thank the industry – the growers, bouquet makers and transportation companies; the wholesalers, distributors and retailers; the florists, designers and enthusiasts. Thanks for allowing us to serve you for 75 years. And thanks for your trust. We’re going to keep earning it!”
