FloraHolland Flower Calendar Aims To Boost Demand For Flowers

FloraHolland, Flower Council Holland and the Association of Florists (VBW) have joined forces. FloraHolland and Flower Council Holland have introduced the Bloemenagenda (Flower Calendar). The goal of the Flower Calendar is to put flowers at the forefront of the consumer's mind. In other words, we want to encourage the consumer to think about flowers. That invitation should lead to an increased demand for flowers – and that will lead ultimately to more sales in the chain.

Consumer experience and seasons are central

  •     The four seasons are at the heart of the Flower Calendar. Twelve flowers will be featured in 2014, sorted according to the season in which they are available and the month that the consumer believes them to be current. The twelve main flowers will be combined with other flowers to create inspiration for bouquets.
  •     The flowers will form an interesting mix of year-round and seasonal flowers. They'll be selected on the basis of popularity, availability and the interests of growers and traders.
  •     The Flowers Calendar will offer consumers a continuing story of the (main) flower, beautiful images and lots of inspiration.
  •     Flower Council Holland, the VBW and FloraHolland want to use the Flowers Calendar to inspire, inform and surprise the various links in the chain with these flowers and their stories. Each story will be targeted at the different links in the chain.
