FLORAHOLLAND – FloraHolland e-Trade recently surpassed its 2010 sales. Currently at 12 million euros and counting, we are expecting to end up this year with growth of 50%. This growth stems from the number of growers now offering their products through this online platform, but also from the growing realization among buyers and growers of the advantages of e-commerce. With our online systems, chain costs are reduced and suppliers gain excellent sales positioning for their customers. Sales through our customers' web shops will see a great leap forward in the next few years, and it is forecast that eventually, the lion's share of the trade in flowers will be through online systems such as FloraHolland e-Trade.

Rapid development
Together with its clients, FloraHolland is continuing its rapid development to shape FloraHolland e-Trade in response to calls from the market. A module was introduced this April to let growers do online pricing. In addition, growers will shortly be able to promote themselves better by having their own profiles. Online stock control has also been improved, and user-friendliness will soon be improved by the use of a single basic stock. From this autumn, it will be possible to communicate with FloraHolland e-Trade from growers’ inventory systems or web shops. The number of growers using e-Trade has increased from 280 to 350 growers in 2011.
