Field of Flowers is merging operations with the largest flower wholesaler in Broward County.
Tradewinds Wholesale Florists will move into the Field of Flowers Davie location, creating a flower market that offers a one-stop shop for retail and wholesale services.
“In today's challenging economy, smart business owners are looking to serve customers better but still drive costs down,'' said Donn Flipse, founder of Field of Flowers.
The merger gives Tradewinds an opportunity to offer its customers a larger daily selection of flowers, more delivery options and a wider variety of supplies. All Tradewinds employees are expected to keep their jobs. The merger brings the owners of Tradewinds and Field of Flowers full circle. Jim and Barbara Benson, the owner of Tradewinds, formerly managed the wholesale division of The Exotic Gardens, which Flipse and his family sold in 1989.
