Dutch Product Board: "Dutch Flowers Represent Quality"

Florists from all over agree: cut flowers from Holland signal quality. That is – in short – the outcome of a poll which the Dutch Product Board for Horticulture held among its ‘florist panel’, which consists of flower shop owners from the Netherlands as well as a large number of other nations.

Other notable characteristics attributed to the Dutch flowers by the members of the florist panel are that they are generally fresh and highly preservable. The large assortment which allows for plenty of choice on the part of the buyers is also mentioned positively quite often.

The Dutch flora turn out to be appreciated the most among florists that reside in The Netherlands themselves as well, suggesting a hint of nationalism may perhaps infuse the poll’s results as well. British flower shop owners are not far behind, however, and it is in fact that group that is most convinced of the distinguishing capacity of the Dutch flowers.

Opinions differ regarding the pricing of Dutch flora, however. Whereas 36 percent of polled French florists indicate that they are not too expensive, for example, a slightly larger group of 39 percent does deem them (too) expensive.
