Color Star Growers Of Colorado Closes Two Texas Nurseries

One of the country’s largest commercial plant growers has closed its two Texas nurseries and laid off 185 workers, including 86 workers at its facilities in Giddings, according to a letter filed with the Texas Workforce Commission.

In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act letter, Color Star Growers of Colorado Inc. said it also laid off 99 employees at its nursery in Sanger, north of Denton. Both layoffs took effect Dec. 16, according to the WARN letter.
