I really want to share some photos and highlights from Ball Ornamentals at the 2014 Cali Spring Trials: this was our best year yet! We had so many nice plants on display, from full bloom Hydrangea macs and blooming Aloe and Agapanthus, to an entire display of heat and drought-tolerant plants. It was so much fun to talk to the guests and show them what all of the excitement is about. I hope my photos inspire you to attend next year!
Hydrangea L.A. Dreamin’
Everyone, and I mean everyone, was impressed with the new Hydrangea L.A. Dreamin’. This plant looks extraordinary. This truly unique, large-blooming macrophylla has both pink and blue flowers on the same plant at the same time, without manipulating soil acidity (typically needed to get blue flowers). L.A. Dreamin’ is zone 5 hardy, so a good pick for most of the U.S. – and it’s going to be irresistible at retail.
